Give a dua rather than saying Thank you

According to the Holy Prophet SAAW  "Dua is the very essence of worship," while one of God's commands expressed through the Quran is for them to call out to Him: And your Lord says: "Call on Me; I will answer your (Prayer): — Quran, surah 40 (Ghafir), ayah 60.

In Sahih Muslim it is stated that the Holy Prophet SAAW said, "A slave becomes nearest to his Lord when he is in prostration. Si increase supplications in prostration."

So if a person wants to get closer to Allah he/she should make plenty of dua for himself/herself and for his/ her loved ones. 

Now a days when ever  someone helps us in any way we say 'Thank you' to them for their help. If we follow the path of our Holy Prophet SAAW then it would be recommended to give them a Dua instead of saying thank you. This dua can be any thing that we might feel will the person in his/ her life. it can even be a simple dua as "May Allah fulfill your hearts desire". As a parent one can make dua for bright future of ones children. As  a friend one can pray for success of ones friend. Even as a teacher, one can make dua to Allah for helping the students to succeed in life and become capable enough to help others and spread the education they are getting today.
