Juhi Act 1

ACT: I
Catherine: Raina..!Raina..! Where are you?
Good Heavens, Child! Why are you out of your bed at this time? You’ll catch cold. Louka told me you were sleeping.
Catherine: I have a got a great news! There has been a battle.
Catherine: A great battle took place at Slivnitza! We won! The battle was won by Sergius.
Catherine: Off course. This news was send by your father. Sergius is considered as hero                                      of the hour as he has won the war.
Catherine:  You can’t imagine how splendidly he won the war. He made a Calvary charge. He is so brave.
Catherine: You doubted Sergius’s kill is bravery! Shame on you. The Serbs have Austrian officers who are as clever as Russian commanders of Bulgarian soldiers but in spite of it, they have beaten them in every battle and the victory has proved that the Bulgarians are better warrior than the Serbs.
Catherine: Oh no, dear, you must keep them fastened. You would be sure to sleep soundly and leave them open. Make them fast, Louka.
Catherine: You can do the wisest thing, my love. Goodnight.
Catherine: Sir! Sir!! Sir!!!
Catherine: Poor darling Raina..!!! The man sleeps deeply

Act: II
Petkoff: Go in and inform the ladies that I have come and also get me some fresh coffee.
Petkoff: well, the Serbs haven’t run away with you, have they?
Catherine: Peace!
Petkoff: yes, a peace treaty has been signed but the Balgarians and made Prince Alexander, Emperor of the Balkans. That’s what I would have done.
Catherine: Oh, my usual sore throat troubles me, that’s all.
Petkoff: that comes from washing your neck everyday. I’ve often told you so.
Petkoff: You must engage in conversation, my dear, until Raina comes and takes him away. All the time he grambles about our not promoting him to a higher rank, much higher than mine.
Catherine: He certainly ought to be promotedwhen he marries Raina beside the country should insist on having atleast one of their citizen promoted to the rank of a general.
Petkoff: (to Raina) Dear, since when you have started taking interest in cooking?
Catherine: Oh, while you were away. It is here latest hobby.
Pektoff: I think since Raina has become interested in cooking. Nicola must have started drinking! He used to be quite caring and thoughtful.
Petkoff: Oh well, never mind. Come, Bluntschhli. Now I will not hear anything more about your going away. You know very well you’re not going back to Switzerland yet. You must stay with us.
Perkoff: (to Catherine) Catherine, I think he is afraid of you, Persuade him and he’ll stay.
Catherine: Of course. I shall be only too delighted if Captain Blunschli  really wishes to stay. He knows my wishes.

Catherine: Louka, you have been talking loosely about my family. You call Raina by her name.
