Objective of Studying the Organization
As
I am student of M.Eng in Fatima Jinnah Women
University , Rawalpindi , it is the requirement of my
course to do practical training in an established organization or Institution.
To ensure practically of two years study, it is necessary to accept challenges
and opportunities to learn and apply skills and knowledge. My main objective of
studying the organization is to see the practical implementation of the
theories and rules, which I have studied in books.
Secondly,
I want to learn new things, i.e. how to communicate with the people, officially
and how I as a teacher can deliver my knowledge to my dear students. How can I
give my best, how to control class and make myself and make my students
devoted, punctual and well-mannered. I want to refine my skills and want to get
experience which will be helpful for me in future.
Introduction

INTERNSHIP DETAILS AS PER WEEK:
1st Week:
The day of 15th July 2010 is very
important day of my life because it was the first day of my internship at PACE College .
First of all, I met to the vice Principal, Ms.
Saba, she took a brief interview of mine, then introduced herself and
guided me by telling the objectives and mission of the college. Then I met to
the principal, Sir Liaqat Ali Khan,
he talked with me about my interests related to my subject and assured me that
he and his staff would help me during my internship. Then vice principal take
me to the staff room and introduced me with other staff members. I have also
gotten the chance of an overview to the classrooms, computer labs, science
labs, library and canteen.
According
to my interest, capabilities and subject, they decided about me that I have to
take the classes of English as teaching grammar and Pak study at intermediate
level. In the first week on very first day, I went to the classes and observe
teachers and students their way of teaching and learning, how they communicate
and interact to each other. This provided me an opportunity that if I have any
point regarding the lecture, I could share it with the class and teacher.
2nd Week:
The
second week of internship was actually a trial of mine because I took my first
class of Pakistan
studies. Before starting my class the teacher of Pakistan Studies guided me and
informed that my lecture should be very intelligible and comprehensible to the
students because he is not going to repeat that particular topics again. First
of all, I introduced myself to the students, and after that I started my lecture.
In first week my task was to deliver the topics like: Foundation of Muslim
League and Khilafat Movement.
During the first few lectures the instructor was also present there and
observed me, and then he gave me some annotations for the improvement of my
performance. On last day of the week Ms.
Saba, the vice principal, informed me that I also have to manage the
tutorial activities in which I have to select some students from the same class
and then I have to bestow my support and guidance to them for the preparation
of debates, speeches, 14th August function and role plays
competition.
3rd Week:
The
principal Sir Liaqat, himself came
to my class and observed me during the lecture. At the end of the class he
called upon me in his office and appreciated my effort of using map in the
class for making the students clear to directions and locations of different
countries and also for the using of white board during the lecture. He also
gave me comments for improvement and told me my weak areas. In 3rd
week Ms. Saba informed me about the
topics of the speech and debates, she also informed me that Ms. Mahvish would help me in managing
the tutorial activities. This week my topic in Pak Study was related to the
First World War and it’s after effects on the Muslim world. The same week I
also got a chance of taken English classes and taught students about English
Grammar throughout my internship. On first day I ask students about their
liking and disliking of English as a subject and made a road map regarding teaching English in an interesting and easy
way for the students.
4th Week:
My
responsibilities increased besides teaching, I have selected students for the
tutorial activities and for the function of 14th August with the
help of Ms. Mahvish. The date for
the debate and speech was announced by Ms.
Saba. She has decided to conduct Independence Day’s function on 13th
of August. So I paid my full attention
to the Independence Day’s function. The duration of the function was 4 hours,
according to the time, I decided to arrange function based on: Recitation of
Holy Quran, Naat, speech, debate, one role play(related to the Pakistan
Movement), and national songs. I picked rest of the girls those were not
participated in the above mentioned activities that they must have to
participate in the decoration of the stage simply because I wanted to involve
the whole class. Ms. Saba ensured me
that she would try her best to provide me every obsession which I needed for
the function.
5th Week:
Eventually
the function of 14th August conducted that was really good. Sir Liquat, Ms Saba and all the staff
members appreciated me and students. Ms.
Mahvish helped me a lot during the preparation of the function. Ms. Saba informed me that in last year
function parents were also invited but this year due to the flood disaster in
the country they were not invited. The students were awarded by principal and
vice principal on the bases of their performances. The students who were
indulge in decorating the stage also awarded and appreciated. This week I paid
my whole attention on organizing of function rather than on my classes.
6th Week:
Finally
the last week of my internship came and I took a short test of the students
which I have taught them. Then I returned that tests to the students and gave
them feed back, remarks and some suggestions for improvement. Sir Wasif guided me about every
substance. He also examined the tests and gave his satisfaction with the
students’ and mine performance. The debate event conducted on the topic,
“Action Speaks Louder than Words”. That was also a very good experience for me
which enhance my confidence about my administration qualities.
Conclusion
PACE
College is well organized institution and as an internee I am satisfied because
here I got opportunities to apply my book knowledge in a practical way. PC says
welcome to the new talent. All staff is working efficiently according to their
job description. Head of institute is working tremendously. I have found no
problem while working here. I have seen good administration, good working
environment, special attention to the students’ assessment and polishing
skills. PC provides a chance to his students to upgrade and improve themselves.
